Bled B. Aliu

Bled B. Aliu is a Managing Associate at Dentons, based in Washington, DC, focusing on White Collar Crime. He is a member of the firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution and Global Compliance and Investigations practices.

He represents multinational corporations and individuals in a wide range of disputes including commercial litigation, compliance, government and internal investigations, and other white collar criminal defence matters.

Bled has broad experience conducting global internal investigations into allegations of corruption, embezzlement, securities fraud, violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and other anti-corruption laws for clients in industries including defence, oil and gas, renewable energy, technology and transportation. This experience extends to all stages of an investigation: from initial planning regarding the collection and review of electronically stored information, to witness interviews, to disclosure meetings with the U.S. Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission. He has also spent significant time on the ground in India conducting investigations and has assisted in designing and implementing remedial measures to companies’ internal controls and compliance programmes.

He also has experience representing companies in commercial litigation matters including product liability and class action securities fraud, and has served as trial counsel, presenting in court along with lead counsel and cross-examining witnesses during trials.

Bled joined Dentons as a summer associate for the commercial litigation group in 2021. He was formerly an intern for the US Court of Appeals for the Veterans Claims Litigation Group. He received his JD from The George Washington University Law School and two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science and Communication Arts and Sciences from Penn State University. In law school, he was a member of the George Washington International Law Review, a mock trial board member, and a 1L mock trial semi-finalist.

The son of a U.S. diplomat, Bled grew up living in Albania, North Macedonia, the United Arab Emirates and Poland. He is fluent in Albanian.

He was named a 2025 Bar Association of the District of Columbia’s Young Lawyer of the Year and was included in the Capital Pro Bono Honor Roll by the District of Columbia Courts in 2021 and 2024. His practice areas include commercial litigation, global compliance and investigations, global anti-corruption, internal investigations, litigation and dispute resolution. He holds a JD, with honors, from George Washington University School of Law (2022) and two BA degrees, cum laude, from Penn State University (2019).
