Aidan M. McCormack

Aidan M. McCormack is a Partner in Dentons' Insurance practice in the New York office. His primary practice area is Insurance Law, and he has extensive experience representing clients in the financial services industry across a broad spectrum of disputes, transactions and regulatory matters. He specialises in insurance and reinsurance-related litigation, arbitration and regulatory proceedings.

He acts as national and global counsel for numerous companies, representing clients across the United States, United Kingdom, Europe, Australia, Asia and Bermuda. He handles a diverse range of issues, including fraud, due diligence, underwriting, specialty products, D&O exposures, E&O allegations, intellectual property disputes, aviation, catastrophic first-party losses, AI, cyber and technology disputes, energy and mining claims, toxic and mass tort liabilities, and entertainment books.

Prior to joining Dentons, he was the US Chair and Global Co-Chair of a 400-plus lawyer insurance practice at a global law firm. He also led the insurance group at a national law firm, which earned national recognition from Reactions magazine.

His recognition includes being listed in Best Lawyers in America in the area of Insurance Law (2026), ranked in Chambers USA in Dispute Resolution: Insurer, New York (2021–2023, 2025–Present), and recommended by The Legal 500 in Insurance: Non-contentious (2023) and Insurance: Advice to Insurers (2018–2023).

He is a member of ARIAS-US, the Professional Liability Underwriting Society and the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel (FDCC). He holds a BA from Creighton University and a JD from Marquette University Law School.
