Adrianne Thompson

Adrianne Thompson is Counsel at Dentons, practicing in the Trusts, Estates and Wealth Preservation group, specializing in Estate Planning. She advises individuals and families on all aspects of estate planning, probate, and estate administration, and regularly counsels trustees and beneficiaries on trust administration and modifications.

Adrianne frequently assists clients planning for family members with disabilities, incorporating special needs trusts to help preserve government benefits. She also advises closely held business owners on succession planning, utilizing wealth transfer techniques to minimize estate tax burdens, and counsels clients on charitable giving, pre‑nuptial and post‑nuptial agreements, and business entity formation. She is a frequent speaker on estate planning and trust administration topics.

She holds a J.D. from Samford University's Cumberland School of Law (2007) and a B.A. in Journalism – Public Relations with a minor in Political Science from the University of Oklahoma (2004).

Adrianne has been selected as a member of Class III of the Southeast Fellows Institute of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (2025) and recognized in Business Alabama's Legal Elite for Wills (2025). She serves on the Board of Trustees of Tuscaloosa Academy and as President of the University of Alabama Planned Giving Advisory Council.
