Uchenna Ekuma-Nkama

Uchenna Ekuma-Nkama is a Partner at Dentons and the US Region Co-Chair of the firm's Global Compliance and Investigations team. She focuses on Compliance Law, white collar defense, government investigations and complex civil and criminal litigation.

As a former federal prosecutor and trial lawyer, she defends companies and executives in high-stakes civil and criminal matters, including class actions, fraud cases and proceedings before the DOJ and State Attorneys General. She also leads or provides strategic counsel in domestic and cross-border compliance investigations, including matters involving financial fraud, bribery and corruption (FCPA), and internal audits and controls.

She has served as trial counsel in state and federal courts, argued before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and successfully opposed petitions for writ of certiorari before the U.S. Supreme Court. She is recognized by Benchmark Litigation Guide as a "Litigation Star" and has been selected as one of The Best Lawyers in America since 2021.

She holds a JD from Georgetown University Law Center, a BL from The Honorable Society of King's Inns, and an LLB from Trinity College Dublin, where she was an Entrance Exhibition Scholar. She serves on the board of the Federal Defenders Program, Inc (NDGA) and has been active with UNICEF USA, the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys and the Atlanta Bar Association.
