Riley W. Coy

Riley Coy is a Shareholder at Dentons Davis Brown PC, specializing in Mergers and Acquisitions. He advises business owners and real estate investors on corporate matters, transactions, M&A, contracts, real estate, and financing, drawing on his prior experience as a litigator to identify and eliminate pitfalls in legal documents.

Riley provides guidance through the negotiation and closing of complex transactions including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and divestitures. He advises on entity selection and formation, asset protection, executive compensation plans, and modifications to organization documents. His real estate experience includes drafting lease agreements, negotiating purchase agreements, and litigating landlord‑tenant disputes. Notable matters include representing a buyer on an international purchase of equipment for a biofuel manufacturing plant, advising a senior housing operator on executive compensation structures, and assisting with a corporate restructuring transaction. Prior to private practice, he clerked for the Honorable Stephanie Rose of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Iowa.

He holds a Juris Doctorate and an MBA from the University of Missouri (2018), and a B.A. in Finance from Drake University (2015).
