Paul Charlton

Paul Charlton is a Partner in Dentons' White Collar and Government Investigations practice, specialising in White Collar Crime. He represents Fortune 500 companies and corporate executives in high-profile complex litigation, internal investigations and white-collar criminal defense matters. A former career prosecutor who served as both an Assistant US Attorney and the US Attorney for Arizona, Paul is a seasoned trial lawyer with deep roots in the legal community.

Paul has extensive experience handling federal investigations, including matters involving alleged False Claims Act violations, political participation, improper billing and FDA-led criminal investigations. He has successfully secured declinations from federal prosecutors and obtained dismissals of charges in both domestic and international matters. He also represents tribes and tribal leaders in nationally reported Native American law cases, and has served as a testifying expert on prosecutorial ethics in high-profile matters.

Paul holds a J.D. from the James E. Rogers College of Law at the University of Arizona, where he served as Note and Comment Editor on the Arizona Law Review, and a B.A. from the University of Arizona.

He is ranked in Band 1 by Chambers USA for Litigation: White Collar and Government Investigations (2018–2026) and is recognised by The Best Lawyers in America in both Criminal Defense: White-Collar and Native American Law.
