Nicoline van de Haterd

Nicoline van de Haterd is an Associate in Dentons' Nonprofit and Tax-Exempt Organizations Group and Corporate group, based in Pittsburgh. She regularly works with a wide range of clients, including various types of nonprofit and for-profit organizations, on formation, corporate governance, strategic transactions, and tax-exempt status matters.

She assists clients from formation through application for tax-exempt status, including the creation of additional corporate entities, conversions, dissolutions, and corporate restructurings. She has represented charitable organizations in affiliation, combination, and merger transactions, including negotiating and seeking approval of the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office, and has prepared petitions to the Allegheny County Orphan's Court. She also advises on state charitable solicitation requirements, reviews commercial agreements, and frequently assists European-based companies in establishing a corporate presence in the United States.

Nicoline holds a J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law (2019), an LL.M. in Law and Technology with distinction from Tilburg University School of Law in the Netherlands (2014), an LL.B. in International and European Law from Tilburg University School of Law (2013), and completed an Erasmus Exchange Program at University of Edinburgh Law School (2011).

She is a co-chair of the Allegheny County Bar Association Nonprofit Law Committee and has been selected to the Pennsylvania Super Lawyers Rising Stars list for Business/Corporate and Nonprofit (2023–2024).
