Nick Janda

Nick Janda is Counsel in Dentons' Los Angeles office, specialising in Technology Law. He helps technology and entertainment companies navigate complex intellectual property and commercial challenges, advising on licensing, commercialisation, strategic deployment of technology assets, and enforcement through federal court litigation.

Nick brings a business-first perspective shaped by his tenure as associate general counsel at a global consumer electronics and AI company, where he led technology licensing initiatives, structured strategic partnerships, and negotiated complex transactions with C-suite executives. His practice encompasses video game asset licensing, character monetisation, AI/ML and data licensing, copyright, trademark and trade secret litigation, and IP-related strategic transactions. He has led high-profile IP disputes for gaming companies, developed comprehensive AI licensing frameworks for major technology clients, and represented clients in Section 337 investigations before the International Trade Commission.

Nick holds a J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School (2007), an M.S. in Chemical Engineering from Michigan Technological University (2004), and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering, summa cum laude, from Case Western Reserve University (2003).
