Milana Karayanidi

Milana Karayanidi is a Managing Associate in Dentons' Regulatory, Public Policy and Government Affairs practice, based in the Washington, DC office, practicing in International Trade Law. She advises clients on US economic sanctions and export controls, including within the context of complex transactions and internal investigations, and helps multinational companies design risk-based trade compliance programs consistent with US regulatory expectations.

She also assists corporate clients throughout the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States process, including obtaining CFIUS clearance for acquisitions by foreign private equity firms and global companies. She has conducted doctoral research in private international law, worked at an international organization promoting cross-border judicial and governmental cooperation, and is co-host of the Sanctions+ podcast.

Milana holds a Ph.D. in Law from Trinity College Dublin (2018), an LL.M. and MA from Harvard Law School (2016), an LL.M. in International Business Law from the University of Wales (2012), and an LL.B. (Hons) in International Law from Kazakh National University (2006).
