Mary G. Wilson

Mary G. Wilson is a Partner at Dentons and serves on its Global and US Boards, specializing in Banking and Finance Law. She is a national finance, health care law, and tax‑exempt organization lawyer, having served as Dentons US Managing Partner for five years before assuming her current role as Global Vice‑Chair for the US Region.

Mary counsels borrowers (including health care and senior living organizations, cultural institutions, schools, and universities), underwriters, and banks in tax‑exempt and taxable bond issues and other finance transactions. She has worked on billions of dollars worth of financings, including fixed‑rate, put and self‑liquidity bonds, lines of credit, commercial paper, and swaps, as well as secured and unsecured lending transactions. She also advises and represents hospitals and health systems in corporate transactions, including restructurings, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, joint operating arrangements, physician contracting, and finance strategy. She represents tax‑exempt organizations in governance, tax‑exemption, and organizational matters.

Mary holds a J.D., with honors, from the University of Chicago Law School (1992) and a B.A., cum laude, with distinction in American Studies from Yale University (1989).

She has been consistently ranked in Chambers USA: Band 1 in Health Care (2022–2025) and Public Finance (2024–2025), and selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America in Health Care Law and Public Finance Law (2007–2026). She was named "Lawyer of the Year" for Health Care by Best Lawyers in America (2015, 2018, 2020) and recognized as Managing Partner of the Year at the Women, Influence and Power in Law Awards (2020).
