Laurel Newman

Laurel Newman is an Associate in Dentons' Trusts, Estates and Wealth Preservation group, focusing on estate and tax planning, estate and trust administration, charitable planning, and tax-exempt organizations.

She assists individuals, families, and fiduciaries with tax and estate planning, estate administration, and charitable planning, and advises family offices and closely held businesses on business succession planning and related tax issues. She also counsels tax-exempt organizations on formation, governance, operational, and compliance matters.

Laurel holds an LL.M. in taxation with an estate planning concentration from Boston University School of Law, and received her J.D. and undergraduate degree in criminal justice from Northeastern University.

Prior to joining Dentons, she was an associate with Alston & Bird in Atlanta and Sherrard Roe Voigt & Harbison in Nashville. During law school, she served as a law clerk for Greater Boston Legal Services, representing indigent clients in Social Security Disability Benefits appeals, housing discrimination matters, and elder rights cases.
