John V. Daniluck

John V. Daniluck is a Partner at Dentons, specialising in Patent Law. With 20 years of legal practice following a 20-year engineering career, he brings a unique perspective to patent opinions (including freedom to operate, infringement, designing around, and patentability), patent prosecution and licensing, and litigation support in mechanical and electrical fields. He has helped clients protect inventions pertaining to medical devices, nanotechnology, engines, sensors, signal processing, vehicles, food packaging, manufacturing, fluid manipulation and non-lethal weapons.

John has extensive engineering experience in aerospace with Hughes Aircraft Company, General Motors (Allison Division) and Chrysler Corporation, working on programs including the AIM-120 AMRAAM missile, YF-23 stealth fighter, V-22 Osprey and E-2C Hawkeye. In his legal practice, he has advised OrthoPediatrics Corp. on multiple acquisitions, including the US$31 million acquisition of Pega Medical and US$22 million acquisition of Boston Orthotics & Prosthetics. He has also prosecuted a significant patent portfolio for an energy client in the field of converting municipal waste to hydrogen gas and assisted in a joint venture with a Fortune 50 company.

John holds a J.D. from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, an M.S. and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University, and is a Registered Professional Engineer in the state of Indiana.

He has been named an IP Star by Managing IP Guide every year since the award started (2021–2026) and is included in The Best Lawyers in America in the field of Patent Law (2024–2026).
