John-Anderson L. Meyer

John-Anderson L. Meyer is the Office Managing Partner of Dentons' Honolulu office, practicing in the firm's Commercial Litigation practice. He has handled a wide range of matters, including commercial litigation, construction cases, personal injury defense, insurance defense, healthcare litigation, medical and legal malpractice defense, constitutional and civil rights litigation, and appellate practice.

Mr. Meyer regularly advises and represents hospitals, medical centers, health insurers, and healthcare systems across Hawaii on medical staff issues, including credentialing, fair process hearings, peer review, and insurance-coverage disputes. He has also represented licensed healthcare professionals in investigations and proceedings before the State of Hawai`i Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs. Notable representations include obtaining summary judgment in a qui tam action against Hawaii Pacific Health (affirmed by the Ninth Circuit), securing a remand from the Hawai'i Supreme Court due to evidentiary errors, and successfully defending the University of Hawai'i in Title IX and whistleblower claims affirmed by the Ninth Circuit.

He holds a J.D., summa cum laude, from the University of Hawai'i William S. Richardson School of Law, an M.A. in Philosophy from the University of Hawai'i, and two B.A. degrees in Philosophy and Comparative Religion from the University of Washington. He has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America, including as Lawyer of the Year for Product Liability Litigation - Defendants (2026-2027), and by Super Lawyers (2013-present).
