Hannah E. King

Hannah E. King is a Partner on the Dentons Cannabis team, specialising in Corporate Compliance. She is one of the nation's leading authorities on the highly regulated cannabis industry, holding a national ranking from Chambers USA in Cannabis Law: Eastern United States. With over a decade of experience, she advises hundreds of cannabis businesses—from small family-run operations to large publicly traded multi-state operators—on regulatory compliance, corporate transactions, corporate governance, and public policy across jurisdictions nationwide.

Hannah has extensive experience representing cannabis businesses in complicated commercial and financial transactions, including full-service representation in the sale of cannabis companies to Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs), working with Dentons Corporate, Tax and Employment & Labor attorneys to ensure compliance with all applicable licensing and regulatory requirements. These transactions have included companies with operations in eleven states and have ranged in value from US$25 million to US$1 billion. She also advises investors, landlords, financial institutions and tribal nations on navigating the complex federal and state regulatory landscape, and has represented cannabis businesses in the Maine State Legislature and advised on policy and government relations work in states across the country.

Hannah holds a J.D. from the University of Maine School of Law (2009) and a B.A. from Prescott College.
