Dalton Cline

Dalton Cline is an Associate in Dentons' global Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Group, focusing on data privacy, cybersecurity compliance, and AI governance. He is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US), Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), and Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT).

He advises businesses across a variety of industries on compliance with domestic and international data privacy and cybersecurity laws, including the GDPR, CCPA, GLBA, HIPAA, COPPA, FERPA and TCPA. He drafts and negotiates complex data protection addenda in highly regulated industries, revises privacy notices, and provides privacy and security risk analysis in mergers and acquisitions. He also assists organizations with critical post-incident response activities, including breach notification, litigation, administrative actions and remediation. He helps clients map requirements to privacy and security control frameworks, including NIST Privacy and Cybersecurity Frameworks, NIST 800-53 Rev. 5, COBIT and ISO-27001. Notable matters include drafting an AI impact assessment for a retail client deploying facial comparison technology, creating a form Data Processing Agreement for an insurance client, and providing privacy diligence for the acquisition of Pet Key LLC by Safer Pet Limited.

Dalton holds a J.D., summa cum laude from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law (2022). He serves as Co-Chair of the Louisville Bar Association's AI, IP and Privacy Law Section and is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
