Brian P. Maloney, PE

Brian P. Maloney, PE is a Shareholder in Dentons' Pittsburgh office, focusing on construction law and representing owners, contractors, subcontractors, architects, engineers and other consultants in dispute resolution and contract negotiation.

He handles a full range of construction-related disputes, including complex contract disputes, cost claims, notice and payment disputes, mechanics' liens, delay and inefficiency claims, defect claims, and unforeseen site conditions matters. He also advises clients on state and municipal procurement, bid preparation and bid protests. He guides clients through crisis situations and government investigations, including OSHA matters, from initial response through litigation and appeals. He has obtained favorable arbitration awards and settlements for manufacturing, audio/visual, and technology clients, and has advised on high-value construction contracts, including a US$200 million private residence and US$100 million processing facility.

Brian holds a J.D. from Boston University School of Law (2009) and a B.S. in Civil Engineering, magna cum laude, from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (1998). He is a registered professional engineer in Pennsylvania and practiced as a civil and structural engineer for more than seven years prior to his legal career.
