Bradley R. Cahoon

Bradley R. Cahoon is a Shareholder at Dentons, serving as USA Co-Leader for Environmental, Mining, and Resources and a member of the Board of Directors, specializing in Environmental Law. He represents clients throughout the United States on environmental liability, risk management, regulatory compliance, and litigation, including major brownfield projects and contaminated property transactions.

Brad has litigated environmental cases under CERCLA, RCRA, the Clean Water Act, the Clean Air Act, and NEPA, and has defended clients against criminal and civil enforcement actions, citizen suits, and toxic tort claims. He has advised on numerous significant transactions, including evaluating environmental risks for the acquisition of AmerCable Incorporated by Mattr Corp.; assisting a real estate developer with the purchase and redevelopment of a Utah fossil‑fuel power plant into a Major League Baseball stadium; negotiating a prospective purchaser agreement with the U.S. EPA and Utah DEQ for a portion of the Richardson Flat Tailings Superfund Site; and negotiating a US$60 million contract for the cleanup and impoundment of waste at a defunct steel plant in Vineyard, Utah. He has also advised on wetlands permitting, water rights, zoning, and mining projects, and has assisted clients with legislation that was enacted into Utah law.

Brad holds a J.D. from the University of Utah, S.J. Quinney College of Law (1991) and a B.A. from Brigham Young University (1988). He is admitted to practice in Utah and Idaho.
